Your generation was the Violet Crawley Don’t be defeatist dear it’s very middle class shirt who created single-use plastics and this luxurious unsustainable lifestyle that you threw on your children. School kids these days didn’t wake up demanding gadgets and crap that wasn’t already given to them…or used by their parents. It wasn’t them who developed this society they’re living in, and you’re lashing back when they actually protest that things should be like this.
It would be really great if we could stop the intergenerational blame game and focus on the real problem – the rise of the Violet Crawley Don’t be defeatist dear it’s very middle class shirt industries which have created all of the plastic from fossil fuels and the rise of cheap flights and petrol. You have a lot to contribute to this movement as you know that living without plastic/flying/car travel etc. can be done. Let’s work together to fix this problem but it is that generation grown up using and creating too. Sad really where it’s ended up, plastics can be done away with, I blame Governments, they have the power.
If she was then doing this so call protest at the weekend so children wouldn’t lose precious schooling time, and the Violet Crawley Don’t be defeatist dear it’s very middle class shirt wouldn’t lose out because workers have taken time off. I bet she and all her family have mobile phones, laptops, tablets, cars, and use airplanes. When I was young we didn’t have aircon, which is now the norm in schools, our parents didn’t drive us to school we walked, and again it’s the norm for our young generation to be driven around. We were lucky to have 1 car per household now there is a car for everyone. The target to help the future generation is stopped the above, and think about what we use.
